Mute
Must we use words
For everything?
Can there not be
A silent, flaming
Leap of heart
Toward Thee?

Welcome to the Still Saturday Community where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and reflect on the depth of sparse words. We’d love for you to join us. Grab the button and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to be still together, to gaze long and drink deep.

Lovely. And I know this isn’t exactly what the poem means, but I remember when my children were little and talked incessantly and when I reached my breaking point I’d tell them that we had to stop talking for a while because I needed to rest my ears.
Have a wonderful weekend, my beautiful friend. xoxox
Sandra Heska King says
A poem speaks as a poem speaks. 🙂
I hope you get to rest more than your ears this weekend… Gentle hugs, Patricia. xoxo

Hello Sandy — I intended to post a comment with NO WORDS only my name info but the Big Computer said ERROR…what does IT know anyway? So…I agree…a silent flaming leap of heart … Yes! Blessings on your Saturday. Hugs!
Sandra Heska King says
Ha! The Big Computer is so silent… and yet so noisy. Flaming with you, Sheila.

Sooo good, as always! Mute. Quiet. As Mom used to say, “Sometimes, silence is golden!” Amen!
Constance Morrison says
The poem reminded me of the disciples who met Jesus on the Emaus Road. “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” A flaming leap of the heart, although not very silent : )
