They spread a table
with handcrafted hospitality.
Take one, they say,
and when enough is certain, take another.
We, proud, hesitate
to accept a free gift.
But in the end
it’s not about the gift
it’s about the love.

Love has endless ways of being expressed ~ Holley Gerth
Note: I took a whole suitcase of gifts to the Dominican Republic last month. But I learned way more about giving the gift of receiving.
There’s a team of Compassion Bloggers in the Dominican this week sharing stories of children in extreme poverty and what Compassion International is doing to give them hope. I know they are being gifted themselves in ways they never guessed. Will you follow them? Just click on the link below. And consider joining the Twitter party tomorrow (Thursday, February 19 from 8-9 E.T.)? You might even win a gift.
How about letting God lead you to sponsor a child from the Dominican Republic this week. It’d be such a gift to both of you. And if you do, using this link this week, you could receive a free Lisa Leonard necklace.

You have a beautiful and compassionate heart.
Thank you, dear Louise. But if that’s true, it’s definitely not me. xo
Simply beautiful, Sandy. Blessings!
Thanks, Martha. You know, we got gifts everywhere–when we first arrived, there were colorful hand-braided bracelets. We got little “I love you” expresso cups with red hearts slipped into yellow netting tied with ribbon to carry (and filled with candy), and more. Plus the food spreads! Tangible gifts put together with so much love.
