Sometimes, when the light is right
and if I’m still enough,
I see the glitter of tinsel dust
floating over melted memories
of magic and mystery in the waiting,
the anticipation of gifts
delivered in the night.
I long for simpler times
when I delighted in an unseen
omnipotent giver
and all I had to do
was be good.
But sometimes,
if I’m still enough,
I see the Light is right
and goodness seeps from shadows
in the night
and Omnipotence
delivers gentle gifts,
a Gift,
and all I have to do
is be.
If I’m
still
enough.
In the stillness,
Sandy

So, so eloquent, and I have no doubt you are still more than enough. 🙂
Thanks so much, Carol.
And don’t we sometimes need to be still enough to grasp that we’re still enough? More than enough?
My mind read the title in a different way
“If I’M still enough”
as if Jesus was asking if He was enough for us…
I pray my answer would be “yes”
That puts a new spin on things. 🙂
Thinking of you in your new digs. He’s absolutely enough for you there.
This elegant poem took my breath away, Sandy. Oh, my, how you can write, and the photos are gorgeous, too!
Blessings!
OOOH, I love this. So glad to read your poetry again, Sandy. Love to you.
