This spot used to serve as a log slide during Michigan’s lumbering era. There was a sign reminding people how not to go to close to the edge of the dune because it didn’t take long to go down, but took a long time to get back up. And there was always the chance of getting buried by sand. It said they had to stage several rescues a year–and since we weren’t really supposed to be there (it was during the government shutdown that included this national park), and there were no park service officials around, I was especially anxious about my husband standing so close to the edge.
We do this sometimes, right? Stray too far from the rock?
Good sharing, good thinking… as usual, Sandy. You are always a treat!
Ditto that, Joanne. 🙂
By the grace of God
My house is built on the rock
I hear and I do the word.
Amen
Amen, Tisha.
