“O God, I have tasted of Thy goodness and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. . . . I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. . . . Give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long.” ~A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God
Still thirsting,
Sandy
Welcome to Still Saturday where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and words. We’d love for you to join us. Get the details on the left, grab your favorite button, and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to gaze long and drink deep.
I love that book. Beautiful, Sandy.enjoy your weekend, sweet friend.
I wrote in the front of my Bible back in the early 80’s… “In pursuit.” I still am.
Wow! The title of my post this weekend is “Pursuing.”
Love Tozer. And yes, Lord, increase my longing to want more of You.
Have a beautiful weekend, Sandra. xox
You, too, dear Patricia.
Dear Sandy, Wonderful . . . thank you and blessings, Ellen
Bless you, Ellen. (And I can’t believe we’re already in August!)
Wishing you a weekend of longing for Him, Sandy. xxoo
To long for Him and pursue Him is what my walk should be about each day, each moment. Far too often I get sideswiped off that pursuing path. It is in His Word where I get back on. I really admire A. W. Tozer, having read a number of his books and find treasures throughout each of them.
May this weekend be filled with His treasures.
Caring through Christ, ~ linda
I love this quote by Tozer…and really, doesn’t the God hunger come from Him?
“I want to want Thee.” I need this prayer today. Thank you, dear one, for this beauty.
And for this place you give us, faithfully, week after week.
I am so grateful.
I love this Tozer quote…to want and love Him more. Thanks for the great post & for hosting & God bless,
Laurie
Sandra,
Beautiful photo that fits perfectly with the desire to have more longing for the Lord! Hope your weekend was filled with Him.
Blessings,
Janis
What makes me long for Him is that He longs to be gracious to me. Isaiah 30:18. His longing for me draws me to Him. Great post.,
