It all started with Sir Wesley John.
When Rose Dog died, we swore no. more. dogs.
But who can say no to a grand girl’s sad face? Only her mother.
So the mission to make Grace happy fell to us, and thus began the hunt for a hypoallergenic, nonshedding, cuddle critter.
Enter Happy Havanese.
We should have gotten another allergic-allergenic, fully-shedding, gas-producing Labrador Retriever. But home we came with the biggest pick of the pups, and any misgivings melted when the grand girl first held him.
A couple weeks later, as I watched Wesley chase an empty water bottle across the kitchen floor, I spoke the fateful words. “I wonder if he’d like a friend to play with.”
