“Do you want to live in peace and hope? It can be simple.
“All you have to do to live is insist on staying awake. Don’t flinch or fade; don’t forget or fake it. Just be. Accept who you’ve been made to be and let everything you do come from the impulses of seeking that God has placed in you.
“Is it possible to lean into God’s mystery just so? Enough that you can see the world around you as it was designed? As it has evolved?
“Breathe.
“Doing this thing–this life–right is about slowing down. Making time still enough so you can say yes. That’s right. There. It is. Right now.
“Breathe.

Welcome to the Still Saturday Community where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and reflect on the depth of sparse words. We’d love for you to join us. Grab the button and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to gaze long and drink deep.

He speaks the truth…the thing is, it’s often so hard to be really in the moment in reality…at least for me.

Such simple and profound truth here.
I’m not linking up today, because my post isn’t a still one, but I didn’t want to miss out on your beautiful offering.

Sandy,
My husband and I were just commenting that it’s so hard to just be still (at least for us). We’re at a cabin in the mountains and when we arrived last night, we got caught in a downpour before we could unload the car. So here we were inside warm and dry, but with no luggage, NO BOOKS, NO iPAD, NO TO DO LIST, no “anything” … and we were uncomfortable with it!
Thanks for the reminder of the importance of being STILL.

I’m late getting to this, Sandy, but then again, maybe not so late. I think it’s *very* timely for me. I haven’t had much breathing time lately. I plan to exhale and then breathe deeply all of next week… unplugging and disappearing for a bit. Maybe I’ll be able to catch up on my reading. 🙂
