God’s a safe-house for the battered,
a sanctuary during bad times.
The moment you arrive, you relax;
you’re never sorry you knocked.

That’s what church felt like to me this morning.
P.S. A good friend loves Mackinac Island. She’s setting a novel up there.
Country steeples always catch my eye. Love old chapels set on hillsides, in wooded groves, or at the corner in every small town. Around the world, always a “safe house”. Enjoyed this.
Oh – I love that – that He’s a safe house – and I loved the historical church you used – so made me want to be there!
I’m fortunate to be in a church where I feel that way, but I also know that the LORD is always with me – he’s always a “safe house” where ever I go.
I hope you’re having a beautiful Sunday, Sandy. xox
I love the message paraphrase of this passage!
He is my refuge and my strength . . . always my safe house.
Beautiful, Sandy!
Blessings!
Sometimes, the Message Bible, really drives a point home like no other. I love this version.
