He said to the Israelites, “In the future when your descendants ask their parents, ‘What do these stones mean?’ tell them, ‘Israel crossed the Jordan on dry ground.’ For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The Lord your God did to the Jordan what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over. He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.” ~Joshua 4:21-24 (NIV)

I love this story from Joshua, and it brings back sweet memories. When my children were little, we made a banner out of felt and cut out grey “stones” that we would glue onto the banner as a remembrance of answers to prayer and could see the powerful hand of the Lord in our lives. Thank you for this today, Sandra. xox

I love Sundays! Thank you for your wonderful words.
I attended the online Saddleback Church service today to hear Nick Vujicic. His words truly touched my heart. I can not believe how emotional I still am.

Nice to see you hanging out in Joshua and choosing that Word, mixing it with your photos. Always a good way of sharing. People can’t just ignore it: the “vision” will set in. [Besides, seeing rocks will always catch my attention, doncha think?]

That reminded me of this final verse from Ecclesiastes: ‘Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.’
In a day when most Christian kids don’t even know the Ten Commandments, here is an easy way for young ones to learn them:
