“Am I only a God nearby,”
declares the Lord,
“and not a God far away?
Who can hide in secret places
so that I cannot see them?”
declares the Lord.
“Do not I fill heaven and earth?”
declares the Lord.
Jeremiah 23:23-24 (NIV)
daring to open doors
Wow, what a picture! Grateful God knows where we are, always.
Yep. 😀
Delightful photo! The verse is very fitting, too. It’s reassuring to know God never lets us out of his sight.
Indeed. He’s a good parent.
Hmmm…never thought of God as a frog before, but liking the idea of Him hiding in plain sight a lot.
I guess I thought of me as the frog. 😉
But He’s hidden in His handiwork, right? We just need eyes to see.
You know I love this photo…and praise God that we can’t hide from Him…for even when we wander into the dark, His light will lead us out. xox
I thought you especially might like it. 😉
And here I understood it was Jeremiah who as a (bull)frog.
Sorry. Bad joke.
Amazing photo, though! And it illuminates such a comforting verse. Thanks for this, Sandy. Happy Sabbath.
I named my first born son Jeremiah as I was reading from that book of the Bible. I was unaware of the popular song, “Jeremiah was a bullfrog” until I heard it from a little boy who sang it out. Nevertheless, it is a wonderful book with such verses that comfort my spirit. The photo and the verse today are so tied together to give clarity to what is being written.
Our son is Jeremy–partly named after Jeremiah. We used to call him Jeremiah Bullfrog. 😉
Love the photo – you do have a talent for capturing animal scenes. A reassuring verse – cannot hide from Him, even when we attempt to camouflage ourselves in our silly ways. He will see, He knows. Thank you!
This made me smile! Great capture, and what a wonderful companion to the verse. xo
Thanks, Jeanne. So nice to see you here today. 😀
I LOVE this!!! Made me grin… that’s a good thing.
Bless your day.
Grinning is good! Real good.
Oh, I l-o-v-e this! And that photo! How did you ever find him?
I was taking pictures of him while he hid in the slats of the gate. Then he jumped down here. 🙂
That picture is amazing… it reminds me of when our little ones play hide and seek only they don’t really hide they just count and then tell us where to find them.
Kind of makes me think there’s part of us that wants to hide from God–but we really don’t want to. We want Him to find us.
I always thought of the garden of eden when I think of what God knows and how silly it was for them to hide. He knows everything. And he love us.
Ahh yes. The Great Fig Leaf Caper. We might as well get naked before Him because He sees that way anyway.
