“But blessed is the man who trusts me, God,
the woman who sticks with God.
They’re like trees replanted in Eden,
putting down roots near the rivers–
Never a worry through the hottest of summers,
never dropping a leaf,
Serene and calm through droughts,
bearing fresh fruit every season.
~Jeremiah 17:7-8 (Message)

I could have used those rivers during our Texas drought this summer! LOL! Beautiful photo/scripture combination! Blessings, Kathy

That word about droughts, good for me. The Texas drought has mirrored a drought in my soul. It isn’t scheduled to break, yet we’ve had some rain. So have I.

Putting down deep roots, drinking up the river of life, sticking with God. I like that image. Thanks.
By the way, I love your theme, “deep see diver.” Brilliant.

Love this verse.
Serene and calm through droughts. Bearing fresh fruit in every season speaks volumes to the season I was in for many years. In that season I Bloomed Where I Was Planted…

I’m not a Message fan, haven’t been able to focus on it, but portions of what you put in place, one of my favorite scriptural promises, came across with real hope and encouragement.
S. Etole says
“Calm and serene” … that’s a promise to hang on to!

*sigh* Needing a long drink of water for my spirit. This one will do.

I love the Frederick Buechner’s quote , you use. I knew of it before but I am glad to see it again. I was reading psalm 46 today and feel this confirms where we need to be.
‘Be still, and know that I am God!
I am exalted among the nations,
I am exalted in the earth.’
The Lord of hosts is with us;
We can go far wrong rooted in God and watered by His word.

Like trees replanted in Eden.
WOW. What a promise!
