Again, as so often before, I felt the secret thoughts rising in me, trusting them to be God-thoughts making themselves known. ~Luci Shaw
breath of
His breath
I watch
and wait
spirit of the wild
and untamed wind
rushing water
of many colors
swirling
dry bones dance
to celestial tunes
God-thoughts rise
beauty to beauty
invisible to visible
sound from silence
image from image
created to creative
I watch
and wait
follow the word
trace the word
servant of the word
image bearer
aflame
breathless
alive.
The story is there to be attended to,
to be absorbed if we are willing to give it our attention,
to follow the path of exploration and observation, eyes and ears alert,
to follow the word, even giving over our conscious control of where it will lead.
Madeleine L’Engle called this way of life “becoming the servant of the word.” ~Luci Shaw

Sometimes your poetry drops straight into my soul and overwhelms me, Sandra. This is one of those times. God speaks through your words and reaches into places I thought were untouchable.
Sandra says
Well, that made my day! Thank you. Dripping now.
Kay Swatkowski says
Sandra, this is lovely and encouraged me to think some new thoughts.
Sandra says
Yay! And thanks! It’s amazing sometimes what He might drop in if we open the door to His thoughts.
