It’s a miracle morning
while men are mined
amid cheers and tears
as they emerge from
rock-sealed tomb
a half-mile journey
from the belly of the earth
where battle raged
in spirit realm
and God stretched out
His holy arm as
one and more grasped and passed
from darkness into light
embraced by grace.
Gracias.
Strummed Words says

Think we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief and say Gracias. Thoughtful One Shot of poetic lines and sighs of relief for those men.
Sandra says
And the last one is out. A great day.
Gay Cannon says
Your work today is very topical; but has its universal aspect to–the realization that for some there seems to be intervention and a need for those particular lives in jeopardy for so long to be saved. The contemplation that rescue happens for some and not others is a haunting one and leaves us to ponder why. This captured so well in these lines: “where battle raged/ in spirit realm/ and God stretched out/ His holy arm as/ one and more grasped and passed/ from darkness into light” Thanks, Gay @beachanny
Sandra says
Gay, you said, “Your work today . . .” That stopped me in my tracks. Nobody has ever used those words before in response to my writing. It’s so (she struggles for the right word) validating. Thank you!
Carol Garvin says
Perfectly said, Sandra, and so timely. Thank you! I’ve been watching the rescue on the news, praying it will go smoothly right to the end. 69 days! I can’t imagine it!
Sandra says
And they are all out. And so smoothly.

Sandra says
Alive and apparently in much better shape than anyone expected. Amazing.

Susan J. Reinhardt says
Hi Sandy –
I watched the news as the first miner emerged. If strangers were so moved by the rescue, I can imagine how the men and their families felt.
God truly blessed the efforts of the Chilean government and people, who refused to give up and valued the lives of these men.
Blessings,
Susan 🙂
Sandra says
It’s still almost unbelievable that they got every single one out safely and so much sooner than expected.
