It’s disorienting
to be a people who walk in darkness
so others can see the right light.
At first I was confused and nervous about having to walk back to our car in the dark after dinner on the pier. And then I remembered the signs. It’s sea turtle nesting season. From May through October lighting is dimmed or darkened so as not to disorient nesting mothers or the hatchlings who dance to the water by the light of the moon. If they follow the wrong light, they could die.
So powerful:
It’s disorienting
to be a people who walk in darkness
so others can see the right light.
There, for the turtles, you are asked to defer your needs for them. Lovely. Really lovely.
Thanks, Donna. For the least of these… 😉
