The night is for stillness.
Let us be still in God’s presence.
It is night after a long day.
What has been done has been done.
What has not been done has not been done.
Let it be.
~New Zealand Prayer Book, Night Prayer
In the stillness,

Welcome to the Still Saturday Community where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and reflect on the depth of sparse words. We’d love for you to join us. Grab the button and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to be still together, to gaze long and drink deep.
Patricia @ Pollywog Creek says
I wish I’d practiced this “let it be” when I was younger. There’s so much freedom in asking God to order my steps for the day and then finding peace at the end of the day that God allowed me to “get done” what was necessary. So grateful for you, my sweet friend. xox
Sandra Heska King says
Me, too, I’m grateful for you, too. xo

We sometimes make the easy hard, I think. At least I do. Bless your week, Alli.

“Let it be” – three simple words that aren’t so easy to live out. Yet, they are very necessary in so many ways. Thanks for the link-up and for the reminder. Blessings to you and yours.

And “let it go,” yes? Thanks for your faithful presence here, Heather. You make me smile.

Sandra, this was meant for me last night, but I was blessed to see it early this morning…early enough to turn it around and to revisit and reflect this evening! A beautiful prayer! It also brought back to my memory the feelings I felt when John Lennon and the Beatles first sang this song…”Let it Be”. Mixed emotions back in that time, but tonight in the stillness and silence, in faith and trust, I shall let it be! God bless!
Sandra Heska King says
Your comment encourages me, Mary. I’m glad this prayer was what you needed. Love when God does His “magic.” Bless you big.
Mary T says
Should have said Paul McCartney, Freudian slip…as Mr. Lennon was experiencing other spirit thoughts…oh! Age is sneaking up on me…lol!
Sandra Heska King says
Oh, I wrote about that song and posted a video. My iPad’s not letting me post the link. (computer’s in the hospital.) Search Paul McCartney or Let it Be on this site. 🙂
