TODAY
Today I’m flying low and I’m
not saying a word.
I’m letting all the voodoos of ambition sleep.
The world goes on as it must,
the bees in the garden rumbling a little,
the fish leaping, the gnats getting eaten.
And so forth.
But I’m taking the day off.
Quiet as a feather.
I hardly move though really I’m traveling
a terrific distance.
Stillness. One of the doors
into the temple.

In the stillness,

Welcome to the Still Saturday Community where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and reflect on the depth of sparse words. We’d love for you to join us. Grab the button and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to be still together, to gaze long and drink deep.
Beautiful poem!
I love Mary Oliver. 🙂
I love that quote – and your series of dove photos ending with his eyes closed. Love it!!! xox
I didn’t know they were closed until I downloaded the photo. Happy surprise. 🙂
What a beautiful quote – “Stillness – one of the doors into the Temple.” May I be still today & enter. Blessings!
Me, too!
