Still Saturday: Abandoned

June 20, 2014 By Sandra Heska King

abandoned

“His wounds didn’t disappear with his resurrected body. Jesus chose to walk out into the world with scars from the past–visible.

“It’s with those hands he reaches out to gently hold you and draw you to his side, where his other scar is tender, where water and blood flowed. So you can touch it and know that you are safe.”

~Bonnie Gray

Spiritual Whitespace book

Inspired by chapter 20, “Daddy.”

Leaving some whitespace here this month as I rest with Bonnie.

I’m reading and writing on a chapter a day.

In the stillness,

Sandy

Sandra Heska King - Still Saturday

Welcome to the Still Saturday Community where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and reflect on the depth of sparse words. We’d love for you to join us. Grab the button and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to gaze long and drink deep.

Abandoned. Found. Peace. Early morning Saturday in a house sleeping, a cup of Irish Breakfast tea and a heavy sweater because the night brought a chill. Surrounded. Loved. Resting…Thanks, Sandy. Beautiful…

Nothing like being embraced by the warmth of tea and a sweater on a cool still morning. 🙂

This was a couple years ago. One of my favorite pictures. She wasn’t crying. She’d just dripped some water on herself. 🙂
