“If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship,
it follows that you don’t fuss about what’s on the table at mealtimes
or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion.
There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach,
more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body.
Look at the birds,
free and unfettered,
not tied down to a job description,
careless in the care of God.
And you count far more to him than birds.”
~ Jesus, Matthew 6:25-26 (MSG)

Beautiful captures of the lovely birds ~ a wonderful illustration of the verse ~ Resting in His mercy and Care is the best place & State of mind & soul.
Such lovely photos, Sandy! Oh to be free like the birds of the air! And Scripture says God cares for sparrows, and we have far more value than they to the Lord. God used that passage so powerfully when my beloved father lay in a hospital bed for five months, suffering excruciatingly (and later, we realized he was really laying there dying). He knew the “sparrow passage,” and felt God was not noticing him. Oh, but He was. I can’t detail it all here (I always say way too much in blog responses), but suffice it to say that God had noticed Daddy during this trial and in all his life previously, and He let us know that my father was saved! I sang His Eye Is on the Sparrow at his funeral. My father will be gone seven years, this May 27th. It’s a very hard anniversary to observe, and yet I know he is alive in God’s presence. This makes me want to be a songbird, singing God’s praises for His gift of eternal salvation. Thank you for this reminder, Sandy, of God’s care for the birds and His everlasting care for us!
Love
Lynn
These are so much fun as I imagine you trying to follow this colorful fellow with your camera.
You are such a “birdy” person. I love to see them over and over and over again. You’re a good one, dear friend. Always make me smile, and rejoice.
Hi Sandy! I love The Message translation of any scripture. I also love the little captions you’ve place under each picture. Such a cute story of stress- free acceptance. Give me the grace for that! Grateful you’ve chosen to share in the joy I feel in launching the first link up for the #GiveMe Grace community! Your presence is a blessing!
