I love early morning sun.
DST–not so much.
What do we save by a clock reset anyway?
We’re spending time whether in the dark or in the light.
The real question is, “how much does a reset cost us?”

Just wanted to say how much I love your 40 word Lent series, so creative and full of fun and wisdom. Love the new digs too. Beautimous!

Thanks, my friend. That Lyla–she’s the blog whisperer.

Good question Sandra! We were just having a conversation a couple of days ago when someone asked why we still follow the rules of dst. No one had a good answer. Hopefully we have a firmer grasp on the idea of taking up our cross and following Jesus.

Here’s an interesting history on DST. Apparently it has to do with saving energy–also at one point called “War Time” — both of which could have spiritual implications for our purposes. 😉

Thanks for the link! Great info on that site. I guess I’d never heard the FDR “war time” use of dst. Very interesting.

Sandy, I’m thinking this ‘sparse word count’ prompt is maybe from Margaret’s idea of her one word prayers from ‘Wonderstruck.’ It is SO very hard to communicate what we want to say in just a few words–forcing us to make them all count.
Your point is a good one–we’re spending time whether in the dark or in the light. I’m trying to pay attention to HOW I spend it.
Thank you for this.

Actually, the idea just came to me out of nowhere, Jody, just a couple days before Ash Wednesday. It’s been kind of fun so far. I hope I can keep it up. 🙂
I’m afraid I waste a lot of time…

Being a huge proponent of micro- blogging, I am not one to spend time on wordy blogs –
we all have so few hrs in our days to begin with..
