We can’t figure out his backstory.
The vet’s considering a growth-related abnormality,
and he’ll do x-rays tomorrow.
Seems to me we all have growth-related abnormalities
related to our backstories,
and we all walk with a limp.
It’s normal.
Word Count: 40
Today’s Reading: Mark 1-5
In the stillness,
Sandy
“Seems we all walk with a limp related to our backstories.” Nodding my head and saying, uh-huh.
I’ve been giving this very thing considerable reflection lately. Wrestling with God, I suppose. Not unlike Jacob. And I’ve decided that I can drag that leg, limply behind me ~ cursing the backstory if you will, or try to cover up the limp in various, ineffective ways…or I can allow the Lord to make my limp part of the bigger story. His Story.
“or I can allow the Lord to make my limp part of the bigger story. His Story.” And accept it. 🙂
So true! Our previous dog, Darlin’, once stepped in a hole and tore her ACL. When we took her to the vet for x-rays, we learned that leg had been broken before and rehealed badly. Poor pound puppy!
A dog can tear an ACL? I never thought about that. Poor pound puppy indeed. Our Susanna has a crooked tail. Pretty sure it’s been broken. Not a clue how. I’m hoping they find a sliver or something up his paw. It’d be so much easier.
What a perfect analogy Sandy. You are doing such an amazing job with these 40 words – so much beauty in so few words.

I know you understand:)
I’m loving your new place. I’m loving seeing your words again. I’m loving you.
Our backstories always try to slow us down. I love how God can use it to bring Glory to His kingdom.
I know, Diane. It would be so nice if life was a little less battle-weary–but then we wouldn’t know His strength.
So much awesome, in so few words.
Well played.

Shark Bait! So good to “see” you. It’s been a long time. And thanks.
God blesses our limping along, doesn’t He?
Blessings, Sandy!
I think the hardest is to accept the blessing for what it is and to lean into Him.
Wow, this post was so insightful! Blessings!
