“The more I thought about it, . . . I realized C.S. Lewis’s suggestion
that we lay aside our fussings and frettings
and come in out of the wind
was the only viable alternative to a life
dictated by anxiety, distraction, and fear.”

Welcome to the Still Saturday Community where we pause after a busy week, move in quiet pilgrimage, maybe linger a while in some still place, and soak in the beauty of images and words. We’d love for you to join us. Get the details on the left, grab your favorite button, and link up below. We all love to hear if something especially speaks to your heart, but please don’t feel pressured to comment. Simply take some time to gaze long and drink deep.

love.you.too.
Ditto. 🙂
I love this quote…thanks for sharing it and the peaceful pictures…
Have you gotten Michelle’s book yet, Amy? It’s a good one.
Don’t you love sitting on the edge of spring?
The photo and idea of coming in out of the wind are so well matched. Thank you for sharing both.
Thank you for slowing down with us, Natalie. Have a beautiful weekend.
I love Michelle’s admonishment to “come in out of the wind” – and when Jesus tells us He will not leave us bereft. I was frustrating about something – standing in the wind of a challenge – and my friend reminded me to give it to God – which is exactly what I have told her during our friendship in her challenges – something we just need to remind us of what we know to do – a come out of the wind – moment!
Wishing you blessing and refreshing this week. Your photo is a beautiful visual of refreshing – the blue is revitalizing!
A come-out-of-the-wind moment. I love it. (And into
A fresh breeze 🙂 )
Love that passage from John (and excited about Michelle’s book!)
Hope you have a great weekend, Sandy! 🙂
I love the whole book of John. One of my favs. And yes, Michelle’s book – awesomeness
A beautiful rest of the weekend to you, too, Lyli.
That Michelle is a gift, isn’t she? So are you!
And you! xo
Today, the concept that not every possible way is a right way is radical. I love this quote–Michelle is amazing! And you, sweet friend, thank you for so beautifully curating words and images here. Thank you for this space. Thank you for you. xoxo
Michelle makes me laugh and think deep. So do you.
Beautiful Sandra,
I too like the “coming out of the wind”. It is all the stuff around us that can wreck the peace. We do need to centre ourselves in Jesus’ arms.
Blessings and thanks for the linkup.

Life can be a real twister sometimes. But the calm place is in the center… or centre. 🙂
Love this. Love YOU. Thank you, Sandy.
And I’ve been there, too. Early ’90s. I have lots of photos connected to that. What a treat to see “it” again from a friend I’d have loved to go with. You just made me smile!! Have to send you a photo or two on the email so you’ll smile, too.
so much stirring anticipating new life once again…
