Spilling words for five minutes on this week’s prompt.
GROW.
Go!
There is growth in the soft places.
In the darkness of the womb, nourished by life.
Sculpted by nothing.
And babies grow into little girls.
And little girls into young women.
And there is no control.
No bricks on head to stop it.
Those moments once cherished, now gone, grown into hazy memories.
And there is growth in the hard places.
Even in the confines of bone.
Where there is no room to stretch.
When life is snatched.
And there is no control.
But the spirit grows.
And even bricks can’t contain it.
And there is growth in the hard places of life.
When we give up control.
Nourished by Life.
Stop!
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I’d even lived one day.
~Psalm 139:13-16 (Message)

Thank you, Pattyann. It’s hard to accept that we often grow best when the way is hard, isn’t it? And to give up the control.
