Writing bold for Lisa Jo.
Five minutes flat.
Unedited.
GO!
I loved my hummingbird feeder.
The glass one painted with yellow sunflowers.
It shattered in the sink.
I bled.
I bought a new one with perches.
Where the birds can rest from their frantic flutter as they feed.
I think they like it better.
To rest is a good thing.
Because frantic flutter frays.
Unravels peace.
But . . .
When we rest our eyes on HIm . . .
When we give our anxiety to Him . . .
When we lean on Him . . .
He sweeps up the shattered pieces.
Binds bleeding hearts and broken spirits.
Restores.
Renews.
Gives rest.
STOP!
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. ~Psalm 91:1 (NIV)

This spring, I planted salvia and yellow-orange zinnias outside the kitchen window. Hummingbirds have found the salvia – I can’t recall seeing as many as I have this year.
These photos are knockouts.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen hummingbirds sit before. When I was in Colorado, they attacked me, looking for food. Alas, I had neither food nor rest for them. Should have sent them on to Michigan to visit you.
