There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love. ~Washington Irving
It’s been a week of tears.
May we turn them into prayers and action.
Remembering Japan.
And Duane’s family who buried a child on his second birthday.
And Melinda’s family whose son was spared.
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. ~Psalm 56:8
S. Etole says

Thank you, Beth. Nice to “see” you here.
Susan J. Reinhardt says
Hi Sandy –
The pictures from Japan are hard to watch without weeping. I’m sorry to hear about the family, who buried their 2-year-old, but rejoice for Melinda’s family. We, too, had a funeral this week. My stepsons’ 93-year-old grandma died.
Blessings,
Susan
Sandra says
Hi Susan,
So sorry that you’ve experienced personal pain this week, too. Lifting your family up in prayer. It’s hard–even when someone has lived such a long life.
The tragedy is Japan is overwhelming. The loss of life and the total devastation. And now the nuclear concerns and another tsunami warning.
I wish I could help somehow, but for now all I can do is pray. Which, of course, is a very big thing.
Melinda Lancaster says
Deeply moved. Thank you. LYI!
Sandra says
I shudder every time I think of Gregory’s ordeal–and yours. Another reminder to keep short accounts. LYM.
Karen Lange says
Praying for those in Japan and for your friends who lost their little one. Thanks for sharing this quote and reminding me of this scripture. So appropriate for these days.
Blessings,
Karen

This scripture also came up in this morning’s Bible study. It’s one to cling to, especially now.
Jessica Gail says
Thank You, Sandra, for remembering my family in prayer this last week. It has been a comfort to know we are not alone. My sister is doing okay, God is comforting her and her family.
Sandra says
Continuing to pray, Jess. Such a hard, hard thing. Hugs.
