Refuse to get involved in inane discussions; they always end up in fights. God’s servant must not be argumentative, but a gentle listener and a teacher who keeps cool, working firmly but patiently with those who refuse to obey. You never know how or when God might sober them up with a change of heart and a turning to the truth, enabling them to escape the devil’s trap, where they are caught and held captive, forced to run his errands. ~2 Timothy 2:23-26(Message)
Accustom yourself continually to make many acts of love, for they enkindle and melt the soul. ~St. Teresa of Avila

The verse above came up during a discussion earlier in the week involving online connections. We just never know what hearts will melt–face to face and online–if we follow Paul’s wisdom.
Stevan Lasorella says
This is such an important concept in our Christian lives that we so often overlook. It is easy to get into arguments with people over different views, but what kind of testimony does that have? We must be firm and unwavering in our beliefs and always ready to give an answer when people question us (I Peter 3:15). But we are not supposed to be mean or degrading by arguing about it.

That’s a good word, Stevan. And a good verse. Thank you.

I am savoring this good advice from Paul today. Thinking of you. The comment you left over at my place the other day touched my heart. Those sweeties that grew in your heart carry a piece of you, Sandra. I know I don’t have to tell you that. What a beautiful family you have watched grow beneath your love.
Much love to you today, my friend.
Sandra says
Thank you, sweet Laura.
And the family keeps expanding. 🙂
Love you.
