Reflections on @stickyJesus: Chapter 5

January 19, 2011 By Sandra Heska King

Your best content will come from living your life authentically in front of others and giving God the glory in every step. That’s how your story becomes sticky and remains with those who hear it. ~@stickyJesus

Yet some days my story is muddy.

I try to be authentic and real and transparent.

But some days–no, most days–I don’t have a clue.

I don’t have a clue about who I am or what God is doing or where He is leading me or what route we are taking to get there.

It’s a step-by-step journey that moves forward, backward, and sideways.

And just when I think I have it figured out, everything changes.

My thoughts, my feelings, His direction.

I see through a veil.

There is one content that covers every human need–the Word of God. ~@stickyJesus

Words tumble and twirl in my head.

And I wish I’d found an outlet earlier.

Yet I’m hushed. To be here in this space in this time.

In His time.

In His perfect time.

To spill word puddles and form sentences that ripple across the page.

I craft content–what I hope is sticky content. Content that drips with hope or humor or healing. With encouragement or inspiration.

And I pray that others will see Jesus at work.

That somehow, some way the words touch them as they walk along their own dusty roads.

I pray they find a mark.

Yet my words are flawed.

But “the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times.” ~Psalm 12:6 (NIV)

All I have are words.

But I have the Word. The Creator of content. Whose words burn with life. Whose words accomplish His purpose.

If I drink His words.

If I fill up on His content.

His flawless content.

I don’t need to be concerned about hits or comments

Because if I soak in His words and share His words, they will not return empty. My words may not accomplish my dreams or my goals in my time, but they will accomplish His intended purpose in His appointed time.

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” ~Isaiah 55:11 (NIV)

And so I cling to the Content King.

This blog may never see 100 comments on one post.

This blog may never see 1000 visitors a day.

This blog may never see 10,000 visitors a month.

But if one, just one, sees Him–if just one is sliced through the heart by this blog’s content, I can be content with that.

“God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get away from it–no matter what.” ~Hebrews 4:12 (Message)

Glad you are back! “Word puddles”–good image. You’re right–forget self and focus on God. Let our words be his words!

You are such the deep sea diver. This is the heart of the book and I love that you get God’s equation. So easy to fall prey as a blogger to the NUMBERS. We are not of this world and so we don’t have the same values. Way to be a culturally defiant digital scribe! We’re here for His glory not for the #1 ranked story! LOVE this post and LOVE your heart. Pearls, all pearls here . . . .

My favorite line – But if one, just one, sees Him–if just one is sliced through the heart by this blog’s content, I can be content with that.

May we peel the layers off and reach the heart of the one. Such a blessing to have you right along side.
